Who am I?

Hey there, I'm Joey (or Douglas J. Honeycutt if you're not into the whole 'brevity' thing). I'm a husband, father, and all-around cool guy based in Jasper, Alabama, and making the magic box turn pretty colors makes me happy.

Web development, graphic design, and programming have been my passion for years. I've honed these skills through countless hours of freelance work and personal projects, but my real dream is to join a team where I can contribute in a professional environment and grow alongside talented people.

I discovered my love of technology on a Packard Bell 486, cutting my teeth on Microsoft QBasic. Since then, I've expanded into a versatile toolkit: I build web applications with React and JavaScript, develop backend solutions in Python and Rust, containerize and deploy with Docker and NGINX, and keep everything versioned with Git. I've also worked with C# and Java, and I'm always expanding my skills—currently diving deeper into React and exploring game development with Godot and GDScript.

Of course, I do occasionally touch grass (or at least I tell myself that). When I'm not coding or caring for my son, you'll find me running TTRPGs, worldbuilding, or creating digital art.

Dungeon Engine

Dungeon Engine is the base for a dungeon-crawl style RPG experience with roguelike inspirations. Two versions exist: one written in Python, and one in JavaScript. I recently released a testing version of the Python branch.
